Fathers Rights Attorneys

A Fathers Rights Attorney is an attorney or lawyer who is willing to fight for the rights of a father. Even so many attorneys market themselves and their law firm as such but don’t do the work. Far too often this is only for marketing and advertising. Unfortunately, this label seldom carries through to actually fighting for a parent’s rights.

Unquestionably, it is deplorable to think that an attorney would ever represent a parent who is a father but not fight for his rights. Nonetheless, it happens all too often.

Hiring An Attorney

If you want to find a Fathers Rights Attorney on your own, here is some information you need to know. Ask the attorney to provide an example of a father or husband they represented. Did the father become the custodial parent? If it was a divorce, where the husband received a majority of the marital assets. Look up the divorce decree or final order. Read it yourself. Does the outcome match the attorney’s story?

Another thing is to look for family law attorneys that only represent men.  Are they truly invested in men and fathers as clients? Do they show it with their wallet by refusing to take money from women as clients?

It is important to check out at least 3 of their recent cases. In addition, visit the State Bar Website to see if the attorney has any disciplinary actions against them. Make sure the attorney is in good standing with the bar.
